Fall in the Columbia River Gorge

Here are a few images from a beautiful fall day in the Columbia River Gorge in October. These waterfalls are about a 60 minute drive and a short hike from Portland. It was a very nice fall day and the water levels were high from the rain we had a few days before.

Hamilton Mountain Hike

Angie, Kurt, Cami and I hiked Hamilton Mountain in May 2009. Kurt just reminded me the other day that I never posted the photos from the hike.

Hamilton Mountain is located in the Columbia River Gorge on the Washington side. The hike gains ~2000 feet and is 7.5 miles round trip.

Sternwheeler Cruise

Angie, Mom and I took a dinner cruise on the Sternwheeler for Mom's Birthday in July. The cruise left from Cascade locks in the Columbia River Gorge and traveled west to Bonneville Dam and then back east to Wind Mountain. The food was great and it was fun to see the gorge from the river.

Latourell Falls Hike

Mom and I hiked to upper Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge in July. The hike was 2.3 miles round trip. This is a wonderful waterfall that very few people hike up to see.

Angel's Rest Hike

Angie, Cami and I hiked to Angel's Rest in the Columbia River Gorge in June. The hike is 4.6 miles round trip and gains ~1600 feet. The wildflower bloom was pretty close to being at the peak. We started early and beat most of the crowds. This is a very popular hike due to the proximity to Portland.
